Join the CAAM ‘field’ Lab of the Penn Museum on Saturday, October 16th for an open house style exploration of current archaeological projects taking place at The Woodlands. In celebration of International Archaeology Day, learn how archaeologists recover plant remains from archaeological contexts. Try out electrical resistance survey and hear about recent ground penetrating radar research looking for evidence of Hamilton’s greenhouse. Look down the microscope to learn more about historical flowerpots and ceramic analysis. And, at 11 am, don’t miss the demonstration on how cores of sediments are retrieved from the ground to study buried soils. Stop by anytime between 10am and 12pm to learn about these discoveries!

In case of rain, this event will take place outdoors under our Fall Event Tent near the Stable.
